Hello All

Due to the feedback from the coaches we have decided to begin the youth league a week later than originally planned.  This should allow more opportunity for team contacts to reach more players and finalized their rosters. The league will begin September 20th.  Below are the dates and field locations for the 6 weeks.

We apologize for the inconvenience of this but feel with the addition (hopefully) of more teams this would create a more competitive environment.

All Practices will be held on AstroTurf and will be Sat a.m./more once ALL teams are finalized.  Schedules will be sent (via email & web page) as soon as rosters are completed.

Equipment needed : Stick, mouthguard, shinguards & goggles > All athletes may wear cleats or sneakers on the turf

Dear Summer Camp Participant,

Welcome to Lead The Way! We have received your application and check and have reserved you a space at Preseason Team Camp held at the Wheeler Farm Seekonk, MA , August 11-14,  2008 from 5:00-8:00pm.

 If you have any balance remaining, please bring it with you to registration.  We are looking forward to the opportunity of teaching and challenging you this summer. 

SCHEDULE:

4:45 pm – 5:00 pm                            Registration (Day 1 Only)

5:00 pm – 5:45 pm                            Warmup - Conditioning

5:45 pm. –6:45 pm                            Circle play, small game play and scrimmage                                        6:45pm8:00pm                                

Games/Competitions

Things to Bring:

• Final Payments (if applicable/signed Liability Waiver find on  web page >leadthewayfieldhockey.com

• Any medications you may need (inhaler, allergy medicine etc.), a certified athletic trainer will be onsite
• Snack  (bring a small cooler)
• Water Bottle
• Sunscreen
• Stick, shinguards, & a mouthguard (mandatory) & Goggles (mandatory)
• Goalkeepers must supply all their own equipment
• Running Shoes (to use inside in case of rain) and Cleats
• Proper Attire is required for each session (White T-Shirts and Dark Shorts are preferred)
• Raingear and a sweatshirt are recommended

 Directions to 357 Walker Street, Seekonk, MA 02771:
From the east - Take 195W to Mass. Exit 1 (114A N). Turn right and proceed past movie complex. Go through lights and follow fork in road bearing right onto Arcade Ave. (Grist Mill restaurant at this intersection). Look for golf course on your left and continue to next light. Go straight, crossing Rt. 44. At end of Arcade, turn right onto Rt. 152N and go1 mi. turning right onto Walker Street. Go approx. .7 mi. to large rock marking entrance on left.

From the west - Take 195E to Mass. Exit 1 (Rt. 114A N). Turn left off exit and proceed past movie complex. Follow directions as above. From Boston, heading south on 95: Take Newport Avenue - US 1A South Exit. At second light, turn left onto Benefit Street. Follow onto Central Ave (Benefit joins Central). At second traffic light, turn right onto Rt. 152 south. Go approximately 3 miles (pass Seekonk library), then left onto Walker Street.

From the Wheeler School in Providence - From Hope Street, turn Left onto Waterman Street and follow over the Henderson Bridge. Take the Massasoit Exit, bearing right onto Massasoit Street. Travel to intersection of No. Broadway/Rt 152. Turn left onto Rt 152/Newman Ave. Follow through three sets of lights. After crossing the reservoir, and the blinking yellow light, continue about a mile and turn Right onto Walker Street. Follow directions as above.

Lead The Way would like to thank all the athletes, coaches and parents for participating in the 2008 Summer league.  All athletes and coaches demonstrated true sportsmanship throughout the six weeks.

Lead The Way encourages all participants to follow up with any feedback that would help improve the league each year.  ALL suggestions is greatly appreciated.
