RI & Southern MA Locations 2021-22 Winter Clinics

Lead the Way will comply wtth the MA & RI Covid Guidelines at each location, more specifics will be shared after registration. 

2 Locations in RI 

North Kingstown, RI & North Smithfield, RI 

1 Location in MA 

Seekonk, MA  (Next session beginnings Feb 21, 2021) 

RI & Southern MA locations are led by LTW Head Coaches: Cara Reese (former Wheaton College Head Coach), Rebecca Campbell (LTW Director)& Kayla Littig (current assistant at Wheaton College)

The goal of the clinic is to offer consistent training and teach the fundamental skills of the game in a fun and competitive environment. Through repetition of fundamental skills, girls build a strong field hockey foundation preparing them to play at the next level. Practice sessions will include individual skills,importance of vision, 1v1 defense, passing and receiving,scoring tactics and skills. Each session will include coached scrimmages/small sided game play. Youth and Middle School participants will also participate in fall league games held in Rehoboth, MA on Saturdays.

 

Youth Clinic 

The goal of the youth program is to provide an opportunity to introduce field hockey in a fun and supportive environment. Programs are for the beginner to intermediate player and are offered seasonally throughout the year. The winter practices will be held indoors on astrograss. Each practice session will inlcude basic fundamental skills, small game play and fun competitions.

Session Requirements: 3rd-5th graders (experienced 5th graders are welcome to enroll in the Middle School session). Players will be grouped by experience and skill. Catering to all levels from the beginner to the more skilled player.
 
 

Middle School Clinic 

Offers consistent training and teachs the fundamental skills of the game in a fun and competitive environment. Through repetition of fundamental skills girls build a strong field hockey foundation preparing them to play at the next level. Practice sessions will include 1v1 skills, passing and receiving and shooting. Each session will include coached scrimmages. Programs are offered to athletes ranging from 5th-8th grade, beginner to advanced players. Participants will be grouped according to their age, playing experience, and current skill level. Goalkeepers are encouraged to register and must provide their own equipment.

High School Programs

The goal of our Lead the Way High School Field Hockey Programs are to provide consistent training and to teach the fundamental and advanced skills of the game in a competitive environment. Through repetition of fundamental skills girls build a strong field hockey foundation preparing them to play at the next level. Practice sessions will include 1v1 skills, passing and receiving, hitting, reverse skills and shooting. Each session will include coached scrimmages. Programs are offered to athletes ranging from 8th-12th grade, beginner to elite players. Participants will be grouped according to their age, playing experience, and current skill level. This program is well-suited for players unable to commit to the LTW club program, but aspire to improve their skills. Beginner to Advanced Goalkeepers are encouraged to register and must provide their own equipment.

Practice Dates:  Dates:Mondays, Jan 4, 11, 18, 25 Feb 1,8,15 & 22   (8-1.5 hour sessions)
Time: 3:30 5:00 pm

Session Requirements:  8th-12th  graders (experienced 5th graders are welcome to enroll in the Middle School session). Players will be grouped by experience and skill. Catering to all levels from the beginner to the more skilled player

Practice Dates:   Tuesdays, Jan 5,12, 19, 26, Feb 2 9,16 & 23  March 2 ( 8- 1.5 hour sessions) 
Time: 5:30 to 7:00 pm 
Cost: $325
