Info on Spring Clinics and Showcases Please Read !
by posted 02/12/2020

Hello,

As you prepare for this upcoming spring we wanted to share some insight with you. As you start to map out what events you should be attending in order to put yourself in the best position to get seen by coaches and visit schools you are interested in!

Please review the notes from last year's recruiting talk. We will be planning an in person meeting soon. Stay tuned!

Recruiting Meeting from LTW

Upcoming 7v7 Clinics with Lead the Way Teams:

As a club, we will be attending many college run 7v7 tournaments, mostly in April. This list will be sent no later than next week. These tournaments are not usually attended by college coaches, but a great way to get out and just play and be coached by our staff. If you have the opportunity to attend a prospect clinic of a college you are interested in versus attending a 7v7 tournament with LTW, we advise you to go to the prospect clinic.

Prospect Clinics and Tournaments (must attend as an individual):

These opportunities are held on college campuses and are a great way to begin the college selection process!  This will give you an opportunity to begin thinking about what you are looking for in a college, ie. distance from home, the size you are most interested in and if you prefer an urban or rural campus. In addition, you will have the opportunity to meet the coaching staff as well as interact with the girls on the team. If you are further along in the process, this allows coaches to get another evaluation of you and determine if you are a good fit for their program!

If you have begun corresponding with colleges, you may start to receive information regarding these clinics via email.  In addition, most often these clinics are listed on the field hockey page of the college website. We strongly encourage you to attend these clinics and let us know ahead of time which ones you are attending.

Individual Showcases:

I have included a few of the upcoming individual showcase opportunities recommended for players looking to play in college, many of these showcases will have a list of coaches that will be attendance, do your research when selecting this showcase based on schools attending.
